Territory Hero Awards

Dob in a mate who has been a Territory Hero through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Territory Hero Awards, proudly supported by the NT News will recognise the contributions of everyday Territorians no matter how big or small. It could be an unforgettable services worker who’s helped keep you safe, your local coffee shop or store that stayed open to make sure you got your daily caffeine fix or essentials, or the friends and neighbours who helped entertain your kids while they were stuck at home.

Hero Awards

Applications have now closed. All nominees will receive an iconic Territorian digital certificate acknowledging their contributions. The category winners will be announced in the NT News on Territory Day Wednesday, 1 July 2020.


Outstanding Contribution by an Individual – For individuals aged 17 and over

This award recognises the extraordinary contribution by an individual to the Northern Territory. We want to hear inspirational stories of how this individual has made the Territory a better place because of their actions.

Neighbourhood Hero - for individuals or group

This award will recognises that special neighbour or group that goes over and above to support others and make your community a happier and more vibrant place to live.

Junior Hero - For individuals or group aged 17 and under

This will reward a group of young people or an individual aged 17 or under. They may have made a difference to their community or have inspired others through their achievements.

Late submissions will not be accepted.

Awards will be based on the information provided by the nominator. It is therefore important to ensure you provide accurate and sufficient information to allow the selection panel to make an informed decision.
